circa 1855, with browned damascus 30 1/2in. barrels, carved arabesques to the sides of breech, scroll engraving to rib-end and traces of gilt scroll-work to the tops of the breech, complex bordered broad top-tang engraved with scrolls and inlaid in gold with a bolting rabbit, complex bordered hump-backed scroll engraved bar-action locks further enhanced with gilt scroll-work (some losses), carved, moulded and engraved hammers, walnut half-stock of 'Lazarino' style with relief carved acanthus scrolls in lieu of chequering at the wrist (age cracks to fore-end and above locks), iron heel-pate with central inlet safety plate marked 'J.H. RENKIN AINE BREVETE No 103', locking button to toe, complex trigger-guard with grip-safe attached to lower tang, the whole scroll engraved with gilt inlays, en-suite ramrod throat, brass tipped ebony ramrod and plain pipes

Other Notes: This rare shotgun combines a grip safety which must be depressed before mounting with a sprung heel-plate safe meaning the gun can only be fire when shouldered.
